How does Oakland change the way your company does business?

Makes paper trails easy to access.  They have also provided us with the means to store most of our data which saves a tremendous amount of paper.

If another company were to ask you why they should switch to Oakland, what would you tell them?  

I would tell them that Oakland is a very reliable company that keeps up with technology and also keeps us up to date with the latest hardware.  

What feature or module of Oakland couldn't you live without and why?

For me, it would be the long/short gauges.  It's a simple feature, but it makes it much more convenient to view.  

What qualities of the Oakland staff set them apart from other service oriented companies you have or are doing business?  

I’ve always felt that dealing with Oakland is like dealing with friends.  They retain their employees which makes it much easier to remedy situations.  When I call them, I know the person on the other side of the phone.  Their employees know our system and our company.   

In what way or ways is Oakland Support unique to other software companies you have or are doing business with?  

The speed at which they respond to any issues or questions that we may have is excellent.  We work with a few other companies and it may take up to 72 hours to receive a call back when there is a problem.  The other option I like is for them to instantly take command of my computer without me going through a lengthy sign in process.  With Oakland, click on the icon and give them two numbers and they can control your computer.  It's simple and fast.  

How do you feel about the support you receive when you call Oakland for support with questions?  

I have talked with support on setting up custom invoices, grain settlements, and ordering computers through IT and in every instance, they have always been very good to deal with.  

How long does it take to get a call back from Oakland support after you have left a message?  

It rarely takes over 30 minutes to get a phone call back on any issue we may have.  Oaklands customer support is second to none.

The BEST Accounting Software!

If you previously used software other than Oakland, what do you appreciate about your switch to Oakland?  

We were on OAKLAND and then switched to [other software]. That was a nightmare. We switched back within 9 months. 


What are some examples of how Oakland software and service assist you in running your business?  

I love the online chat feature, plus their service is the best. They are more than willing to help you and listen when a change needs to be made.

How does Oakland change the way your company does business?

The Hull Coop conducts business with a variety of customers and Oakland software is able to accommodate our diverse business needs.  We have several custom interfaces for feed, grain, lumber, and tire sales.  Oakland has supported their own software along with the specific interface needs unique to our company.  

How has Oakland increased your business productivity? 

In the past several years we have gained efficiencies because of the scale interface with Vande Berg Scales.  Posting tickets takes far less time and we are able to get more done with the same number of people.

If another company were to ask you why they should switch to Oakland, what would you tell them?

The Oakland system is very reliable.  We appreciate knowing that our software and hardware from Oakland is supported and will continue to work well.  Our company knows it can rely on the reporting from Oakland to be accurate and consistent.

If another company were to ask you why they should switch to Oakland, what would you tell them?

Reliability.  We’ve used a variety of software programs for many different aspects of our business, and by far, Oakland has been the most reliable.  I can actually trust that the software works and performs as it’s supposed to.  On top of that, the support staff is very capable and willing to help with any and all of the questions I’ve had.  

In what way or ways is Oakland Support unique to other software companies you have or are doing business with?

The support is timely and rarely is an issue not fixed correctly in my experience.  That’s invaluable.  

How do you feel about the support you receive when you call Oakland for support with questions?

Everyone seems willing to assist in any way they can.  I have never felt like a burden when calling in to get support no matter how simple or complex my issue was.

Product is very high quality, and customer service can’t be beat.

What feature or module of Oakland couldn't you live without and why?  

Grain Offer Reports are essential to our business.  The report keeps all of the customer offers together in one place, and makes hedging and the execution of the offers seamless.  It’s a great feature!

How does FarmerData help you serve your patrons?
  

FarmerData is a great tool for our producers to use.  By logging in, they can see all of their information in one spot. Customers really enjoy the freedom of being able to see their information on their own.

How has Oakland’s IT services helped your company on a day to day basis?
 

Whenever we have a problem at any of our locations, we give Oakland a call and it is fixed within minutes.  Great customer service!

What qualities of the Oakland staff set them apart from other service oriented companies you have or are doing business?
  
All of Oakland staff is very friendly and genuine.  They are easy to talk to, very education, and very patient with their customers.

How would you describe your service from Oakland?

The service we receive from Oakland has been nothing short of fantastic, all the people we deal with there do a great job, any time we have an issue it's solved promptly and efficiently, and makes the use of our accounting system much smother for operating our cooperative. What specific features do you like about most about Oakland?

If I had to pick a specific a feature I don't know if I could, other than, the main the feature is how simple it is for our staff to use, it's very user friendly, and that has more value to me than any specific feature of the software. The feature of it being user friendly is the most important thing to me.

Would you recommend Oakland products and services to others?

Yes we would, we've been with Oakland now for pretty close to 15 years. We've had no issues what so ever, it's done a great job for us. There has been little pieces that have been added on over the years that have helped us do a better job managing our business, and find the information necessary to do so, and you can't go wrong when you are working with the people at Oakland, they are just great people.

How would you describe your experience switching to Oakland?

We were very nervous about switching computer systems and going with a company we knew very little about.  We have been 100% satisfied with Oakland Corporation. The staff at Oakland are amazing people to work with and have made the transition smoother than anyone could ever imagine.  Thank you Oakland for making such a great program!

How would you describe your service from Oakland?

We've been with Oakland Corporation for 18 years. The service we get here is pretty darn great, they respond as soon as you call. If there is someone free we get right through, they are very knowledgeable, they never make you feel like you don't what you are doing.

What specific features do you like about most about Oakland?

The bookings feature in accounts receivable is marvelous. It makes it so you really can't make a mistake. If you follow their step by step instructions, and enter the products, the quantities, and the prices, you can't go wrong. It knows and keeps track of everything, and knows when those bookings are gone.

Payroll is great! People don't like it when you mess with their checks. If you make a mistake, they will let you know it. The system makes is easy to reverse a check, void a check, and then re-issue one single check if you've messed up. I'm very thankful for that, it makes it easy.

One of the things I'm responsible for is pricing inventory at the end of the fiscal year, after we've done our physical count. I discovered the Inventory Purchase Report that gives you all the vendors you purchased all the products from, the dates, the quantities, and the price. Wow! That saves me a ton of time, I really appreciate that.

The technology and service department are marvelous. I've never called panicked because something didn't work or wouldn't run. We installed the remote management module, so they can get on and see what's wrong and fix it. That saves a ton of time because we are located 3 hours from Story City, that is great. The technology department is tops!

The sales people listen, they really want to help us do our jobs better, and that's really important to me.

Would you recommend Oakland products and services to others?

I couldn't imagine working for a Co-op who didn't have Oakland. I can't imagine how it would work without Oakland. I would tell them they should switch, they'd love it if they did.
